Terms of use

1. What JamaicaBoard is

JamaicaBoard is an online directory and advertising platform that helps people in Jamaica find independent local service providers ("pros") and contact them directly, mainly by WhatsApp or phone.

JamaicaBoard is operated by DaBits Jamaica Ltd, a company registered in Jamaica. In these terms, "JamaicaBoard", "we" and "us" mean DaBits Jamaica Ltd.

JamaicaBoard is not an employer, staffing agency, contractor or broker. We do not perform any of the services advertised, we are not a party to any agreement between a customer and a pro, and we do not handle payments for jobs.

2. Who can use JamaicaBoard

Anyone can search JamaicaBoard. To post an ad or leave a review you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement under Jamaican law. If you post for a business, you confirm you are authorised to act for it.

3. Your account

• You sign in with your email address and a one-time 6-digit code sent by email, or with your Google account. There is no password.
• Keep your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can receive your codes and access your account.
• JamaicaBoard will never ask you for your code by phone, WhatsApp or email. Never share it.
• The information you give us must be true and up to date. One person or business per account.

4. Posting an ad

• Basic ads are free. We may offer paid plans or extra features later; their price and terms will be shown clearly before you pay anything.
• Ads created before the public launch on October 20, 2026 may stay in "ready for launch" status until that date.
• Founder Spot: the first 100 eligible pros who complete an approved ad before launch receive one free professionally designed visual ad and a Founder badge. Eligibility is decided by JamaicaBoard; the offer has no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• We may review, reject or ask you to change any ad that does not meet these terms or the Community Rules.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. You give JamaicaBoard a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, translate (including automatic translation) and show your content on JamaicaBoard and in JamaicaBoard's own promotion, for as long as your ad is on the platform.

You confirm that you own or have permission to use everything you upload, including photos of work, and that your content does not break any law or anyone else's rights.

6. "Write it for me" (AI assistance)

The "Write it for me" tool uses an artificial intelligence service to suggest a description from the details you enter. Suggestions may contain mistakes. You are responsible for checking and correcting the text before you publish it.

7. No guarantee of work or results

• For pros: JamaicaBoard does not guarantee any number of views, calls, messages, customers, jobs, income or search position.
• For customers: JamaicaBoard does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, pricing, timeliness, licences or insurance of any pro or their work.
• Badges have a limited meaning. "Verified" means JamaicaBoard checked specific information (for example, identity documents) at a point in time. It is not an endorsement, a licence check for every trade, or a warranty of the pro's work.
• Reviews are the opinions of the customers who wrote them, not of JamaicaBoard.

8. Pros are independent — liability

Pros are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents or partners of JamaicaBoard. Any agreement for work — price, scope, timing, materials, deposits and guarantees — is made only between the customer and the pro, and each is responsible for their own obligations.

JamaicaBoard is not responsible for work performed or not performed, damage to property, injury, loss, payment disputes, or anything else arising from dealings between customers and pros. We strongly recommend agreeing price and scope in writing, asking for references and receipts, and avoiding large deposits before work starts.

JamaicaBoard is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by Jamaican law, JamaicaBoard is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid JamaicaBoard in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act of Jamaica.

9. Reviews

• Reviews must describe a real, first-hand experience with the pro.
• Each email address can review a listing once in a given period, confirmed by an email code.
• Pros may publicly reply to reviews. Pros may not pay for, pressure or bargain for reviews, or review themselves or competitors.
• We may hide or remove reviews that break the Community Rules.

10. What you must not do

• Break the Community Rules, including advertising any banned trade.
• Use JamaicaBoard for fraud, scams, spam or anything unlawful.
• Impersonate another person or business, or post someone else's personal information.
• Copy, scrape or bulk-download listings, or use JamaicaBoard data to build a competing directory or contact list.
• Interfere with JamaicaBoard's security, attempt to access other accounts, or upload malicious code.

11. Moderation and suspension

Anyone can report an ad or review. We may, with or without notice, edit formatting, hide, suspend or remove any ad, review, badge or account that we reasonably believe breaks these terms, the Community Rules or the law, and we may share information with the authorities where required by law.

12. Ending your use of JamaicaBoard

You can stop using JamaicaBoard at any time and ask us to delete your ad and account using the contact details below. We can end or suspend your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as liability and governing law) survive after your account ends.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When changes are significant we will tell you on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using JamaicaBoard after that, the new terms apply.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Jamaica. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. The English version prevails if there is any conflict with a translation.
